I have a Check Engine light on, Code P0420 I believe on my Chevy Truck. I tried it but it didn't work. What has happened is my Converter has broken up into Pieces. So nothing you dump into the fuel is going to fix that issue! Now my problem is that I can't buy a Replacement Cat for my 2003 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3L Engine that's California Legal other then the whole Pipe and both converters from the Dealer. Even though if I was in any other state I could buy a converter for like $90. So I guess I'll just Pollute for another Year+ until either one gets Certified, or I have to fork out $800+.
So this stuff won't work if your converter is broken up. Your just wasting your money.

This product is high on price and short on delivery. Not to mention, the packaging was inadequate if not dangerous.
1) The product arrived and had partially leaked into the box and had a strong odor eminating from the box. It was sealed with a cheap plastic seal on top and there was no internal seal. This made the bottle subject to leaking and was not air or liquid-tight.
2) I had a check engine light on status and it had been determined by mechanics to be caused by catalytic converter/oxygen sensors.
3) The garage and I thoroughly tested this product to see if it would affect the engine light after running the car through 2 tanks of gas after carefully following the instruction on the bottle. Despite all of this and even clearing out the engine light on 3 separate occasions, the light continued to come on during the catalytic converter portion of the test. The garage even let me bring the testing computer home and monitor the tests real-time.
My point is through all of this, the marketing on the bottle mislead me to believe that this would take care of catalytic/O2 sensor issues and the check engine light if it was due to related issues. Despite using the product as recommended, I ended up failing emissions, was now out $24.95 in addition to all the needed repairs. The product did not live up to expectations.

Cataclean did not work in my car. It has no guarantee so the money spent is lost. They do say if it does not work try another bottle, But you have to pay for it. They also suggest using it 4 times a year at a cost of $120+ with shipping. If it works as stated why call it preventitive? I could not find the openly and aggressively tests on line. (how do you state aggressively test a product and not include the tests?} From their description, "Data is available to substantiate the efficacy of Cataclean and experts prove our claims on emissions and fuel efficiency improvements for gasoline and diesel" Where is it? How do you get it? Who did it?
I could not find anyone who sells it at a store only online.
As a side note why is it priced at $24.95 with free shipping at $25.00. Amazon you can do better.

It works. my mechanic told me I need to replace the 2 catalytic converters (2001 BMW 325xi). and after using this product the check engine light went off after 200 miles and its been off for 3 months

My engine light came on and I took it to my local dealer to have them troubleshoot the problem. They explained that the catalytic converter was in need of replacement at a cost of $600. That night I researched the problem on the internet and came across Cataclean's website. I purchased the product thru Amazon and am I glad I did!! After adding it to my fuel tank the engine light went out after my second fill up. Great product.
